If you’re only adding a maintenance dose of chlorine, your pool is safe to swim in after its had ample time to dilute throughout the entire pool, so always be sure to keep your pump running and wait at least half an hour before entering.
Algae blooms can strike at anytime, and can be exacerbated by many factors, including dirty filters, improper chemical balancing or filtration, or a sudden introduction of contaminants.
A heater usually doesnt work well if its not getting enough water flow. Check to make sure your filter or salt cell isn’t overdue for a clean, and if that doesnt do the trick, reach out to your local pool professional to get efficient diagnostics for your heater.

A common misconception about salt pools due to poor marketing is the thought that they dont use chlorine to sanitize. In reality, salt pools simply use the mild salinity of the pool to generate its own chlorine, hence why pool professionals refer to salt cells SWGs; or Salt Water
Generators. A salt pool most likely feels better because the water’s mineral content acts as a natural water softener, which may feel “silkier” or “smoother” than a traditional pool.
DE filters should usually be backwashed every couple of months, but can vary depending on the amount of water it is responsible for filtering, and how dirty that water is. A good rule of thumb is to backwash when the PSI is 5 higher than it is directly after being cleaned
Migrating ducks can often see pools as peaceful and isolated resting spots during their migratory paths. Their tendency to use it as a personal restroom will wreak havoc on any pool. The easiest way to deter ducks is to set up a few decoys of different birds that can be found online. This can convince the ducks that the pool is already inhabited, and pass it over in favor of another body of water. Floating swan decorations or goose decoys typically work best.
